Beginning one that loves to build antennas and electronics, it's just natural for me to thinker with building stuff, and since the only really thing you can build for WiFi are antennas(yes I know there are amps) I decided to play around with a new antenna design. One thing that prompted me to get going on this antenna, was last week I received a used StarChoice Antenna, and based on the details I found on Trevor Marshall's website I figured the same could be done with the StarChoice dish. So the first step was to build the 'feedhorn' I went ahead and built the BiQuad with the little wings. I didn't use copper but aluminium, why? Well I was at the Home Depot(gotta love that place for antenna parts :) ) and noticed they had a 24" x 8" sheet for $3.50(all prices are Canadian). So that was the perfect price.

The initial test of just using the BiQuad as a stand along antenna showed that this little thing is VERY promising possibilities! A few weeks back I built a Cantenna but the BiQuad preformed better. Atleast in the initial tests is did almost 27% better!!

I'll post pictures later tonight. I just forgot to download them from the camera. I'll also post some pictures of my cantenna as well...

So anyone into a Antenna shootout?! :)
