Tonight while watching The Screen Savers on TechTV, Kevin Rose aka Dark Tipper demonstrated a new(at least for me) distro based on Knoppix Linux distro, which is a awesome bootable Linux distro on CD. You don't need to install this Linux version. Place the CD into the drive, set your system to boot off the CD and you have a full feature Linux distribution.
Alright back to what Kevin demo'ed(Article). There is a distro called Knoppix STD, this is THE bootable CD any security administrator needs(or even WarDriver). As I write this blog the Knoppix-STD homepage is down due to the ./ effect the site has exceeded their monthly bandwidth. The really nice thing about this distro is that it comes with patched orinoco drivers!! So for those who have wanted to play around with Linux and don't have experience with compiling or patching drivers this is the perfect setup. From what I have been able to fine this CD is JUST LOADED with network and security tools.
If and when I'm able to find a copy of this ISO I'll play around with it and write up a review.
