It's been a few weeks since the last update. Not a whole lot has been happening.

Let's see..... The past weekend I took a drive out to Ottawa(Ontario), thinking I would have a nice long Wardrive all came to a end after my external antenna broke in the Hotel. I did get to do some logging on the way over to Ottawa but that was it. I have yet to take a look at the logs myself, but I believe I was only able to log about 80 AP's for a 400Km drive. The problem is that I only placed antenna near the window and not external. So having the antenna inside a metal shell doesn't help, and I knew that. I'll have to come up with a new designed in that I can mount the antenna externally. Oh well. Better luck next time.

What else...... One of my other side hobbies is satellite TV. We are talking about those BIG satellite dishes. I like watching wildfeeds and other FTA's(Free To Air) programs. To get an idea of what is out there have a look at one of my favorites sites for such info: LyngSat. About 2 weeks ago I got my hands on a PCI based satellite receiver called VP-1020, pop this thing in, hook up the satellite dish and your watching digital tv on your PC. Just to give you a example of what is available, I'll use Galaxy 10R as a example, if you look at the list there you will find some with a yellowish background, those are the programs which are free to watch, punch in the correct information into WINDVB(the application that comes with the card) and your good to go. Just a note, the first column on the left is the frequency and polarity of the signal, anything below 11000 is whats classified as C band, and required a LARGE satellite dish, 7ft++. The others 11000 and greater then you can get away with a 2-3ft dish.

I'll post more details on my satellite finds next time. Cya folks.
