Keeping things alive
Still keeping busy on this end. But I thought I would add a little to the blog.
I found this cool little application while watching "The Screen Savers" on TechTV
"WEP Key Generator Utility for Wi-Fi Networks" Can be found at WEPGen What it does is help admin's manage and control the sometimes crazy amount of WEP Keys. Plus other features, click the link to all of the option you get.
What else...... Oh ya this weekend I hope to pickup a surplus microwave antenna that was used for LookTV(a local TV service provider, much like Satellite TV but uses Microwave towers instead of satellites). I hope to be able to convert this over to WiFi and try some experiments with it. Looks something like this Antenna this service is provided at about 2.5Ghz close enough to 802.11b/g that it shouldn't be a big problem to tweak it for WiFi.
I will of course post my findings on the blog. If your in the Toronto area that you might be able to find these antennas by the dozen. There are more then a few people who have them up on the roof that aren't being used. Ask around.
